Assistant Professor or Assistant Teaching Professor/Assistant Lecturer

This is an opportunity for industry game developers to influence the next generation of game developers in an academic environment. This is a faculty position in Game Development to teach courses to include, but not limited to, game programming, human-computer interaction, game technology, the business of games, or game design; develop curricula; provide service to the University; advise students, facilitate graduate/undergraduate interdisciplinary research projects; lead client-based projects; help lead co-curricular activities and student organizations. The Assistant Professor position is also expected to maintain an active program of scholarship, research and/or creative achievement. Requirements Required: M.F.A. or Ph.D. (terminal degree) in a related discipline by date of appointment for appointment as Assistant Professor; M.F.A. or Ph.D. (terminal degree) in a related discipline by date of appointment for appointment as Assistant Teaching Professor; Master’s degree in a related discipline by date of appointment; five years of full-time experience in the game industry for appointment as Assistant Lecturer. This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.) For appointment as Assistant Professor, consideration may be given to candidates with an accomplished research/creative and teaching record, including a record significant peer-evaluated scholarship and successful grant writing; demonstrable industry experience in the area of game development; research/creative achievement or industry experience in the area of game development; or experience and/or keen interest in teaching.
