Audio Mechanical Engineer

As a Mechanical Engineer on the Facebook AR Audio team, you will develop state of the art mechanical designs, structures, mechanisms and transducers/microphones integration solutions that will create transformative users experiences. You will be part of a team exploring new concepts through analytical modeling and fast iterative prototyping. We value people who work well in teams, can brainstorm big ideas, are able to drive a concept into a prototype and can envision how that prototype could transition into a high-volume consumer product.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to mechanical solutions as a part of a team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to generate concepts and detailed designs.
  • Apply rigorous engineering techniques to solve challenging design problems.
  • Analyze, optimize, build, test and refine prototypes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years experience with mechanical designs and transducers.
  • Experience in 3D CAD modeling and physical prototyping.
  • Experience with manufacturing techniques such as machining, 3D printing or injection molding.
  • Experience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, and associated metrology.
  • Experience with data analysis in MATLAB or equivalent software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of consumer audio product design, prototyping and R&D experience.
  • Experience with 3D printing (Objet, FDM, SLS), Statistical process control, FEA (ANSYS, Femap/NX Nastran).
