We are collaborating with Disney and Lucasfilm Games on a new story-driven open-world video game set in the beloved Star Wars galaxy. This is a lore we love and want to do justice with a game and story that bring both new and lifelong fans on an immersive and outstanding journey that will stay with them for years.
As an Environment Prop Artist here at Massive, you'll get the chance to use your artistic eye to create high-quality benchmarks for environmental assets (e.g. cliffs, roads, mountains, rocks, piles, etc) that look visually stunning. Utilizing the power of our in-house game engine – Snowdrop, you'll collaborate with Tech Artists and Concept Artists to create innovative AAA game worlds. For this particular position, we're ideally seeking Artist with a vision to work with realistic environments.

Build 3D environmental props based on concept art and reference imagery;
Collaborate with Level Art and design Teams to maintain gameplay requirements and Tech Art to maintain performance requirements;
Reviewing outsourced props;
Maintain quality, efficiency, and consistency across your work;

You push what environmental assets can mean to a game through creative initiatives. You’re not afraid to take responsibility and ownership for whatever's needed within the team, to make the game better. Your collaboration and communication skills are put into practice together with your openness and flexibility when providing insights to create amazing environmental assets to the game.
Besides the above we’re looking for someone aligned with our core values and the following skills and experience:
A relevant portfolio of artwork (must include Environmental assets)
Proven experience working in the games industry;
Deep understanding of art fundamentals and design (including an understanding of composition, color theory, and lighting);
Solid understanding of the workflows required to create an asset from scratch to final quality, and optimization for real-time rendering.
Proficient in Zbrush, Mudbox or Blender
Proficient in Substance Painter
Is a plus, if you have:
Experience in material creation Proficiency in Substance Designer;
Experience with Photogrammetry;
Experience with procedural generations (Work Machine, Houdini, GAEA)
