Graphics Engineer, Sustained Engineering

Role description

We are looking for an experienced graphics developer to join our Sustained Engineering team, to fulfill Unity’s mission of Solving Hard Problems and Enabling Customer Success.

Our top-tier customers are building complex, world-leading games and applications with Unity, pushing it further than ever, and occasionally they run into interesting, unexpected low-level graphics bugs and issues that cause them development pain - and that’s where you come in!

We want you to join us in solving these varied, challenging problems across all areas of the Unity Editor and Runtime on many different platforms and innovative technologies. Help make Unity better for AAA projects - and for everyone else! Together we’ll fix these real-world issues and improve our automated testing, to make sure it stays that way.


  • Fixing bugs and improving code in all areas of Unity
  • Triaging and assessing incoming bugs and test instabilities
  • Doing what’s right - you are empowered to do what is best for the product!


  • Commercial C++ experience
  • Knowledge of modern graphics APIs, shaders and rendering pipelines
  • Experienced user of graphics debugging tools
  • Excellent written / spoken communication in English

Bonus points

  • Experience of large-scale and/or legacy projects
  • Game development experience
  • Experience of automated testing / test-driven development
  • C# experience
