Rockstar North is seeking an experienced Lead Front End Developer to join our Social Club team, both as an individual contributor and someone who can lead a talented and diverse team of developers. This is a full-time permanent position based out of Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of Edinburgh. 

WHAT WE DO

  • The Rockstar Games Social Club is a technology platform that powers Rockstar’s online titles and our ability to deliver world-class player experiences.
  • We create and maintain high-impact features for Grand Theft Auto Online, Red Dead Online, the Rockstar Games Launcher, and the Social Club website, as well as the core Social Club player, accounts ecosystem, and related social and messaging channels.
  • We also align technology and tools with our digital distribution platform to create solutions that enhance our games and empower various teams within Rockstar – including development, marketing, security, and customer support – to engage with our players.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a team of front-end developers to build and maintain features and applications utilizing JavaScript (React).
  • Work alongside colleagues from other disciplines to integrate application front-ends into the wider system architecture.
  • Research, document and promote the adoption of new process and architecture across the wider Social Club team.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Producers to plan and schedule future team projects.
  • Collaborate with other Rockstar technology teams across our worldwide studios.
  • Provide mentorship to members of the team.
  • Demonstrate expert technical knowledge that can be used to guide the team to solve complex tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of professional web development experience.
  • A degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Great communication skills as a core member of an internationally-based team.
  • Passion for web technologies and a desire to remain up to date with the latest technologies.

SKILLS

  • Previous leadership / managerial experience.
  • Experience working with UX teams.
  • Expert in HTML & CSS.
  • Expert in modern JavaScript/ECMAScript with experience in React.
  • Experience with shared code and use of source control platforms.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development processes.
  • Appreciation of software development and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience with Visual Studio.
  • Passion for games (especially Rockstar Games titles).

PLUSES
