Postdoctoral Research Scientist, Spatial Audio

Responsibilities

  • Develop novel algorithms and signal processing techniques to solve complex acoustic research problems in the field of spatial audio, and sound field representation.
  • Design, execution, and results analysis of perceptual studies, in the field of spatial audio.
  • Build applications in MATLAB, MaxMSP, and/or Unity to drive real-time audio prototypes, demonstrations, and experiments.
  • Collaborate with the larger FRL team and provide creative leadership on cross-team technologies.
  • Collaborate with external academic groups to advance our research goals.
  • Publish research results in top-tier journals and at leading international conferences.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
  • Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration
  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a PhD in the field of Applied Mathematics, Audio Engineering and Signal Processing, Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored conference publications or journal articles such as: Acoustical Society of America (ASA), Audio Engineering Society (AES), IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), Journal of Acoustical Society of America (JASA), and IEEE transactions and workshops.
