Senior Unity / Client Engineer
Playable Worlds is looking for a Senior Client Engineer to work on our front-end development for a massively multiplayer online game. This individual, reporting to the Lead Client Engineer, will be focused on high-level client architecture tasks for the development of gameplay, core platform, and tools technology. This individual should be self-motivating, inquisitive, open to experimentation, and excited to tackle interesting technical challenges that have not been attempted in massively multiplayer online games before.
Please note: during this pandemic, our team is working remotely until circumstances allow us to return to in-office work. Must be authorized to work in the United States. This position can be full-time remote or based in our office in Northern San Diego once circumstances allow
7+ years of professional software development experience in the video games Industry.
Expertise with Unity, particularly around inputs, player controllers, art pipelines, physics, and client/server replication.
Familiarity with massive multiplayer online game development and production cycles, including the development of internal world-building tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interface directly with artists, designers, production, and other engineering leads.
At least 3 shipped game titles, with at least 1 being in multiplayer gaming.
Experience with Entity-Component-Systems based architectures such as DOTS is a considerable plus.
Comfort with helping to design and develop new ways of delivering client-side content such as UI and art assets in a dynamic, on-demand fashion.
