Unity Generalist

A-Game Studios is looking for a Unity generalist with a lifelong passion for games to join our exciting new project for a minimum four-month full-time contract. We are in the final stages of development and are expanding our team size to meet the demands of production before our fall launch. We are seeking an ambitious and self-motivated individual who has experienced the full development cycle in a professional environment and wants to be a valued member of a small team with diverse responsibilities. As a startup we offer flexibility and the opportunity for growth as well as the chance to help ship a groundbreaking game on multiple platforms. Requirements: Must be willing to work remotely Must be free to work full time, 40 hrs / week Must be based in Ontario Responsibilities: Collaborate with our lead developer, our creative director and the rest of our team to develop and refine our shared vision for an unannounced game Code core systems and gameplay mechanics Develop and improve various game systems (AI, UI, tools, proc gen, etc.) Optimize and debug game code for delivery on one or more major platforms Qualifications: 2+ years work experience as a games programmer in Unity Bachelor's degree in Comp. Sci. / Game Design or equivalent Familiar with full development cycle from pre-production to post-launch Excellent knowledge of C# and coding practices Ability to tackle hard problems in creative ways Ability to be productive and focused while working from home Available to take frequent video conference meetings with co-workers Ability to estimate workload and stay on schedule Excellent communication skills Plays well with others Bonus Experience: Has worked on both PC and Console games Has shipped a game on multiple platforms AI, Unity Cloud Build, GitHub, procedural generation systems We offer: flexible schedule hourly rate of $30/hour possibility to extend the contract past 4 months based on funding and performance Being a part of a small, diverse team that is making a groundbreaking game Diverse applicants are encouraged to apply.  The Ontario government’s definition of diversity includes but is not limited to: ancestry, culture, ethnicity, gender identity, gender expression, language, physical and intellectual ability, race, religion (creed), sex, sexual orientation and socio-economic status).
